New Morgan Borough honored Twin Valley Fire Police for service during a November manhunt. The New Morgan Borough presented the Community Service Award to Twin Valley Fire Department’s Fire Police in December. The borough wanted to recognize the Fire Department’s service during the manhunt on Nov. 14 when a suspect fled from police after a chase through southern Berks County.
Topton Borough Council cuts manager position, re-elects Council president
The Borough of Topton held their reorganization meeting Monday, Jan. 6. Mayor Thomas Biltcliff led council through the elections. Council voted to re-elect K. Ray Stauffer as council president and Michael S. Wagaman as council vice president. The previous meeting Dec. 23, 2013, saw the layoff of Borough Manager Anthony Branco.
